Bean in a bag
Tape a bean in a bag to a sunny window and watch it sprout.
You'll need
- A clear zip bag
- A damp paper towel
- A bean or two
- Tape
How to play
- Fold the damp paper towel into the bag.
- Slide in a bean so you can see it.
- Tape the bag to a sunny window.
- Check each morning and draw what changes.
Try saying this
“What do you think the bean is doing in there?”
Your part
Check it with them each day. Say what you notice and listen to theirs. Leave the explaining until they ask.
If it stalls
- Look for two minutes and draw it. Even no change is a result.
- Plant a second bean in soil to compare.
Short on time? Pop in a bean and tape it up.
Why it's good for them: Watching a seed grow over days shows them that big change comes from small steps.
