Sound bingo
Sit quietly and tick off every sound you hear.
You'll need
- Paper and pencil
How to play
- Draw a grid of 6 boxes. Add a sound to each, like a bird, a car or a fridge hum.
- Sit still with eyes closed for two minutes.
- Tick the sounds you hear.
- Share the quietest one.
Try saying this
“Let us see how many sounds we can catch without moving. What can you hear?”
Your part
Listen with them and share what you hear. When they name a sound, add to it: ‘A car, a big noisy car’.
If it stalls
- Do a one-minute round first. Short is fine.
- Open the window. More sounds, more fun.
Short on time? Ninety seconds of listening, then name one sound.
Why it's good for them: Listening games teach attention and stillness without anyone being told to be quiet.
Not this one? Try bubble breathing, slow-motion walk, feelings faces.
