Mystery bag
Feel inside a bag and guess the object without looking.
You'll need
- A cloth bag or pillowcase
- Small safe objects
How to play
- Put an object in the bag.
- Reach in and feel it without looking.
- Describe it and guess.
- Pull it out to check.
Try saying this
“What does it feel like? Is it soft or hard?”
Your part
Take a go with a silly guess. Wait for their descriptions, and use the words they offer.
If it stalls
- Describe it for them with two words.
- Use two objects they know very well.
Short on time? One object, one guess.
Why it's good for them: Using touch to explore builds descriptive language.
Not this one? Try hot and cold, would you rather, animal charades.
