Chair tunnel crawl
Line up chairs and blankets for a tunnel to crawl through.
You'll need
- Chairs
- A blanket or two
- A torch (optional)
How to play
- Line chairs up in two rows and cover with blankets.
- Crawl through with a toy to rescue.
- Add an obstacle: a cushion to climb over.
- Swap and build a new tunnel.
Try saying this
“Is the tunnel safe? Can you check it for me?”
Your part
Peek in the end of the tunnel and wait to be invited. Comment on what they are doing, ‘You are crawling so quietly’.
If it stalls
- Put a favourite toy at the end and let them crawl to it.
- Make it shorter and brighter if it feels too dark.
Short on time? One chair, one blanket, one crawl.
Why it's good for them: Crawling through tight spaces strengthens the whole body and builds brave little minds.
Not this one? Try sock ball toss, animal races, balloon volleyball.
