Nature bracelets
Wrap sticky tape around a wrist and collect a walk on it.
You'll need
- Wide masking tape
- A walk with plenty of things to pick up
How to play
- Wrap tape around each wrist, sticky side facing out.
- Walk and press leaves, petals and grass on.
- Name each thing as it goes on.
- Peel off at home and stick the best on paper.
Try saying this
“What can you find that would look good on your bracelet?”
Your part
Wear a bracelet too. Share what you spot and say its name, ‘A spiky green leaf’, then wait to see what they pick up next.
If it stalls
- Stop at a bush or flower bed where there is plenty to choose from.
- Let them collect first and stick later if the tape is fiddly.
Short on time? Make a bracelet and fill it in one minute of looking.
Why it's good for them: Collecting and naming what they find builds vocabulary and the habit of noticing.
Not this one? Try puddle jumping, star map at dusk, cloud spotting.
