Scarf dancing
Wave scarves and flow with slow and fast music.
You'll need
- Light scarves
- Music with slow and fast parts
How to play
- Give each of you a scarf.
- Dance slowly to slow music, swooshing the scarf.
- Speed up when the music does.
- Let the scarf float to the floor to finish.
Try saying this
“How would the scarf move for this music?”
Your part
Dance with a scarf and let them lead the movement. Describe what you see, ‘Your scarf is flying’.
If it stalls
- Wave yours slowly and let them watch.
- Try one big swoosh for each beat.
Short on time? One song with one scarf.
Why it's good for them: Moving to music helps feelings flow and builds body awareness.
Not this one? Try kitchen rhythm band, silly song swap, sound effect story.
