Memory tray
Look at a tray of objects, then spot what was taken away.
You'll need
- A tray
- Eight small household objects
- A cloth
How to play
- Put the objects on the tray and look for 30 seconds.
- Cover with a cloth.
- Take one out while they cannot see.
- Uncover and guess which one is missing.
Try saying this
“What can you see on the tray? What do you think will vanish?”
Your part
Take your turn at guessing and let them be the one to hide. Celebrate what they notice.
If it stalls
- Start with just four objects.
- Name them out loud together.
Short on time? Four items, one disappears.
Why it's good for them: Remembering what was there stretches memory and attention.
Not this one? Try i spy, treasure hunt, animal charades.
