Bubble wrap prints
Roll paint onto bubble wrap and print bumpy patterns.
You'll need
- Bubble wrap
- Washable paint and a brush
- Paper
- A tray or plate
How to play
- Brush a thin layer of paint over the bubble side.
- Press it paint-side down onto paper and rub the back.
- Peel it off slowly and look at the dots.
- Print a second colour on top.
Try saying this
“What shall we print? Do you think it will look like anything?”
Your part
Print one yourself and wait for theirs. Describe the reveal as it happens, ‘Ooh, it is peeling off’, and let them name the pattern.
If it stalls
- Let them pop a few bubbles first. Sensory fun is a fine way in.
- Use just one colour and a smaller piece if the paint feels overwhelming.
Short on time? One print, one peel, one look.
Why it's good for them: Pressing, peeling and spotting patterns gives plenty of sensory feedback, which helps focus.
Not this one? Try scribble monsters, paper weaving, tissue suncatchers.
